What indoor media is — and how to turn your business's TV into sales

Indoor media is advertising shown on screens inside venues — bars, bakeries, barbershops, restaurants, markets, gyms, clinics and salons. Instead of the TV just playing entertainment (or sitting switched off), it becomes the business's own ad channel: it entertains customers and, in the breaks, shows your offers.

You'll hear plenty of names for it — digital signage, indoor advertising, corporate TV, digital poster, point-of-sale advertising. Deep down, they all describe the same idea. Marca na Tela is a Brazilian self-service indoor media platform: you control everything from your phone, on any TV with a browser, without spending a fortune and without depending on anyone.

Glossary: the terms you'll hear

Indoor media
Advertising shown on screens inside venues (bars, markets, clinics, gyms). Marca na Tela is a self-service indoor media platform: you control your TV's ads yourself.
Digital signage
The umbrella term for digital media/signage on screens. It is the same concept as indoor media, applied to any communication screen in a physical location.
On-screen signage
Using screens to communicate promotions, notices and content in place of paper posters. It updates instantly, from your phone, with no printing.
Corporate TV / indoor TV
The venue's TV used as a channel to communicate with customers — not just entertainment, but also the business's offers and brand.
Digital poster / digital panel
The on-screen version of the offer poster: colorful, moving and swappable in seconds. It replaces the faded paper on the wall.
Media player
The software that runs on the TV and displays the content. With Marca na Tela, the player opens in the TV's browser (or on a Fire TV Stick / Chromecast / Android TV) — no expensive hardware.
Point of sale (POS)
The physical place where the sale happens. Advertising at the POS reaches the customer at the moment of decision — that is why the screen by the counter sells so well.
Sponsorship slot
Space on your screen sold to local brands to advertise. It becomes a new revenue stream: the sponsor pays and you earn (available on the Pró plan).
Brand on screen (branded content)
Showing your own brand and offers on the screen, your way. The platform's signature stays discreet in the footer; it's your business that shows up big.
Screen monetization
Turning a TV that only played entertainment (or sat switched off) into an asset that drives sales and sponsorship.

How it works in practice

No construction, no complicated installation. In 3 steps from your phone:

  1. Upload your ad from your phone — a photo of the product is enough.
  2. Open the TV's browser at play.marcanatela.com.br.
  3. Scan the QR code shown on the TV with your phone (or type the 6-digit code). You're live.

It works on any TV with a browser — Smart TV, Fire TV Stick, Chromecast, Android TV or mini PC. After that, everything's on your phone: changed a price, scheduled an event, ran out of an offer — you update it and the screen changes instantly.

Formats that don't cover the content

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between indoor media and digital signage?

In practice, none: digital signage is the English term for digital media/signage on screens. Indoor media emphasizes that the screen is inside the venue, communicating with people who are already there.

Do I need to buy a TV or special equipment?

No. It works on the TV you already have, with an HDMI input and a browser with internet. Very old models and Roku TVs need a (cheap) Fire TV Stick, Chromecast or Android TV plugged into the HDMI port. We have tested it on Fire TV Stick, LG (webOS), Samsung (Tizen), Chromecast, Android TV and mini PC.

Does the advertising bother customers?

No. The ad comes in beside the content, without covering anything. There are three formats — Spotlight (1/3 of the screen), Floating (a badge in the corner) and Footer bar (a message strip) — and the entertainment keeps playing.

How does indoor media help you sell more?

The screen catches the customer in a captive wait (queue, table, chair) and shows the offer at the moment of decision. Screens at the point of sale increase the purchase likelihood of the displayed products by ~8.1% (Journal of Marketing).
